Crooked House by Agatha Christie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book is more of a psychological mystery – less running around and more thinking.
This is something that Poirot would most definitely enjoy. I prefer Christie stories that include Miss Marple or Hercule Poirot, so I was surprised to have liked this one.
Neither of my preferred detectives were present, but all the characters were very well fleshed out and I really enjoyed it.
There are enough red herrings here that at one point I actually suspected the culprit and I thought, surely Agatha Christie wouldn’t do that! And then a little down the storyline I thought maybe that person wasn’t the culprit after all.
But it was and I was right, and Christie has tricked me yet again.
It’s a quick read, or maybe I was on a reading spree then. Read it for the well fleshed out characters, and to see how deep and dark people’s minds can get.
