Book Review:
Meg Cabot is an absolutely amazing writer, and I will never tire of reading any of her books multiple times.
This is the first book in a new series – the entire series is written in an epistolary form, which is a writing style I am a fan of and would like to read much more of! Epistolary basically means that the story is written in the form of correspondence, be it letters, emails, texts, etc.
This book is very engaging and well written. It grips your attention in the very first page, but then again Meg Cabot is really good at that. The scene she sets is beautifully conveyed and people’s personalities definitely come across very well in the way they craft their correspondence and the language they use. The build up to the climax was very exciting and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. Needless to say it was a very satisfying end.
John Trent is amazing and you will definitely adore him. There were a couple of characters I wanted to read more about and I hope they’ll be touched upon in the rest of the series.
Yes, this entire series is loosely connected and set in the same universe. But you can read them all as standalone novels also, and you can also read them out of series in any order you wish to. But I’m kind of crazy about reading series of any sort so I’m going to be reading them in order (I love picking up on inter story references, however tiny) and I’ll keep you updated!
