The Body in the Library by Agatha Christie

Miss Marple is a top class detective. As she often does, figuring out clues and dropping just enough hints to make you wonder. Though to be honest I am not always able to solve them. What a dear she is though! I wish I’d known someone like that in real life. It would be awesome to learn.
As always, Agatha Christie creates memorable characters and the whole idea of ‘who did it?’ always remains throughout the book. Those little hints dropped here and there are just short of enough to figure it out, and that’s what makes it so tantalising.
But this is one of her finest books in terms of character building, in my opinion. Josie was from the very start a suspicious character, but the extent of her involvement was something I did not anticipate.
Also I was quite suspicious of Raymond Starr at one point. This was a story I had read before and so the part about Ruby Keene’s body, I remembered straightaway.
I did not however remember anything about Basil Blake and I still am not completely satisfied about his involvement or lack thereof.
That’s the only thing that niggles at me otherwise this would have been 4 stars.
