‘Til the Last Snowflake Falls by Al. E. Boy
Book Details:
Legendary reindeer,Comet and Vixen, have a daughter named Fawn. Fawn yearns to explore the world outside Santa’s Village, but her parents tell her she’s much too young to go off by herself.
“I want some fun and excitement! I don’t care how dangerous it is!”
When the young reindeer utters these words, and begins sneaking out each day…she has no idea what’s in store for her!
Along the way, Fawn does make friends with a snow bunny and a short snowman…Snowboy.
But all is not so rosy, as she comes to realize the dangers her parents warned her about, are actually very, very real!
Hungry, wild animals, a deadly North Pole blizzard, and dangerous strangers capturing animals to sell to a New York City zoo are just some of the situations she’s going to have to face.
It’s going to be an incredible, exciting, and unforgettable week!
Book Review:
A wonderful book for children – I suppose it could be categorized as middle school. It would also work beautifully as a bedtime story for younger kids. Each chapter ends with a nice segue, so kids can go to bed with their wonderful imagination, looking forward to the next night of stories!
Fawn is the central character of this story, and the entire series of events in the book relate to her actions. She lives in Santa’s village with her parents comet and vixen. She is bored of being all alone with no playmates and sneaks out.
Soon, Fawn, Bunny and Snowboy are good friends, and have many adventures. It’s a nice, heartwarming story about friendship, goodness of heart, and of course, the wonders of Christmas and Santa Claus! Santa, the elves, and Santa’s magician friend, Wajic are really nice and likable characters that will surely strike a chord with children. The story of the dangers that the captured animals face is also very well written and readers will eagerly look forward to what happens next in the book.
This book has everything a child, or a child at heart, would like, and it would make for a wonderful Christmas present too! I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I think I will be reviewing more books in this genre in the future. ‘Til the Last Snowflake Falls has converted me.
